ジャンクのバンジョーを買う。９５０円。

出たな、ガキデカ。楽器にシールや落書きをするのは本当にやめてほしい。４０年後に俺のようなやつが買って困る。

「こまわり君を追い越せ！」とローマ字で書いてある。もう青春は終わったと思いますが、果たして追い越すことはできたんでしょうかね？

そもそも何を基準に「追い越した」と決めるのか難しいですが。

泣けますね。

ネックとヘッドにヒビが入っていた。これは気が付かなかった。奥まで行ってないとは思う。不安材料の一つ。

ネックの根本にネジがある。ヒビが入っているのでネジ止めしてるのかと思ったが、バンジョーはこういう仕様のようだ。このネジでボルトを固定している。

指板に釘が刺さっている！「何をするんだ！」と思ったが、バンジョーでは５弦は弦を犬釘に引っ掛けてカポにするらしい。へえ、知らないことがいろいろあるな。

あと、なぜか弦が１弦の太さのものを4本、４弦の太さのものを1本張っている。とりあえず販売用に見た目を良くしたのか。

掃除のために分解。ギターと違ってネジでバラバラになるのがおもしろい。

ネックにヒビ。ネジが１つ錆びて取れない。ペグのプラスチックの輪がひとつない。

ストラップ用の穴だと思うがなぜか電線を縛ってあった。

ネックとボディの繋ぎ方なんかは、へえ！という感じ。

木ねじがなぜか曲がっている。代わりはあるような気はするが。

家にはいろいろなねじ回しがある。

There it is, a bratty kid. I really wish people would stop putting stickers and graffiti on instruments. I'd be in trouble if someone like me bought one 40 years from now.

"Overtake Komawari-kun!" is written on it in roman letters. I think my youth is over, but was I really able to overtake him?

It's hard to know what the criteria for "overtaking" is in the first place.

It's tear-jerking.

There were cracks in the neck and head. I didn't notice this. I don't think they went all the way through. One thing that worries me.

There's a screw at the base of the neck. I thought it was screwed in because there was a crack, but it seems like this is how banjos are designed. This screw holds the bolt in place.

There's a nail stuck in the fingerboard! I thought, "What are they doing?" but apparently on banjos, the 5th string is capoed by hooking it onto a nail. Wow, there's a lot I don't know.

Also, for some reason, there are four strings the same thickness as a 1st string and one string the same thickness as a 4th string. Maybe just to make it look better for sale?

Now I'm going to do some maintenance, or more precisely, cleaning.
